The INTERNET WRITING WORKSHOP

THE INTERNET WRITING WORKSHOP, one of the Web's oldest and most respected writing critique groups, offers lists discussing writing, creative nonfiction, markets, and speculative fiction. The IWW's separate critique groups cover fiction, love stories, nonfiction, novels, poetry, practice, prose works, script writing, and children and young adult writing. The critique groups have participation requirements and are focused on writing techniques. The IWW is a cooperative. Membership is free.

Birds of Paradise Novel Contest

Steve Lopez is a columnist for The Los Angeles Times and is the author of three novels and a book of non-fiction, and he's written ...

"I'm inviting all readers to help me write a novel. My column in next Sunday's paper (March 30th) will be Chapter 1 of "Birds of Paradise: A Novel Collaboration." Readers like you will write Chapters 2, 3, 4 and so on, a chapter a day that will appear both in the pages of The Times and on our website daily until the L.A. Times Festival of Books on April 26 and 27 at UCLA."
