IWW Members Published and in Print
The March winds are bringing people grief all over the place, but
here at the IWW our members keep chugging along! Here's last
week's list of triumphs--and one cautionary tale.
Norbert Brown
Hi, everybody--
I have the featured essay, on Cyberpunk fiction, in the brand new
Internet Review of Books issue for March.

Rejection number 437:
"From: Unnamed publisher
"Thank you for your query. Unfortunately, your material is not
right for the agents at our company at this time.
"We wish you the best of luck finding an enthusiastic agent and we
thank you again for thinking of us."
All you newbies and oldsters with less than that, keep trying for
those Yahoos. If you ain't playing; you ain't in the game.
"Someday, your prints will come..." Lala lala.
Alice Folkart
Another poem, "Sometime in July With Jude," is up at Here and Now
- 7beats. Scroll down to find it--it's at about the half-way point, just
below the church picture.

Here's a link to my newest piece in the Feminist Review. I really
enjoyed reading and writing this review. All those involved in the
memoir discussion might enjoy this one.

Hey everyone. It's been a while since I posted here some good news.
Today I got my issue of Write On Poetry Magazette, where my poem
"Rain on My Parade" is now in print. A while ago, I paid $4 for my
copy. There's no website though. Hooray.
Better late than never, my poem is now featured on
Apollo's Lyre, one month late. But that's okay.

Managed at last to get my spec fic novel off to Baen--now it's wait
9-12 months. At least I can move on to other projects.
Also managed to finished Jamil Nasir's Houses of Time, due for
release in April. Review due soon. Library Journal calls it
lugubrious. It moves at a glacial pace. He's an accomplished writer,
plays with reality and parallel universes, but falls short in writing
a compelling story. Anyway, my review, provided Gayle accepts
it, will probably appear in April SFRevu. Then maybe those on
SFChat can read the novel and comment. I suspect he'll develop
a cult following, but I had to force myself to read this one.

Hello Writer Friends:
The Internet Review of Books has put out another great issue
of book reviews for March.
I'm delighted that my review of Lauren Groff's Monsters of
Templeton is part of this wonderful publication.
Edita A. Petrick
My romantic fantasy thriller Burning Spiral is coming out in May
2008 from Cerridwen Press, and I have just contracted my mystery
novel The Coffin Trader to Wild Child Publishing of California.
The cover of my Cold Scheme, a romantic thriller, won the Covey
Cover Award for January 2008, and the e-book, which is now
available on fictionwise and other e-sources, will come out as a trade
paperback and be on Amazon.com by mid-summer 2008. (:)
P.S: Gotta sell some with that great cover...no?
On a related note--and not sure how much a yahoo this is--my NCP
novel Sweet Poisoned Wine sold over 200 copies in the first three
months it was out--at least that's according to my royalty
statement--so for a first e-book with NCP that (I understand) is quite
good. It takes money to promote anything and since I'm still a single
parent, with all young adults at home and two dogs and a day job . . .
. well, little money left over for promotion, but you know what? It's
PROMOTION that really, really works--going to have to get to it.
Thanks for the chat!

My poem "Letters to Eli" appears in the new issue of Stirring.
This is my second poem to appear recently in this journal, which
is one of my favorites. I'm also delighted to make a second
appearance at Literary Mama with my poem "Learning to
Paint at Age 45."
Wayne Scheer
Two more quick Yahoos.
Pen Pricks, my favorite site for 55 word stories, has accepted
what I hope people see as a humor piece, "Another Advantage for
Technology." It should be up April 1.
Long Story Short has accepted, "Making Her Shot," a flash that
began in Practice. It's set for their April 7 issue.
No money, just fame. Alas.
Amber Vilate
My poem, "The Freedom of Light," won honorable mention over
at Trellis Magazine. It's on page 13 of the current issue.
The IRB team--multiple yahoos
The March issue of The Internet Review of Books went online
this week, and it carries not only reviews by members of the
IWW--Sarah Morgan, Julie McGuire, and Norbert Brown--but
also the staff: Bob Sanchez, Gary Presley, Ruth Douillette, and
Carter Jefferson. And our contest is getting entries!
