IWW Members' Publishing Successes

Wayne Scheer

My story, "At the Diner," has been published at Write City Magazine. A lot of people offered critiques for this on so I have many to thank, including the editors at Write City Magazine. A pleasure to work with, and they pay. Thanks to all.

I usually send something to Clever Magazine, run by one of the first editors to publish me a long time ago. This time around, I simply forgot. Call it Covid brain. Anyway, last issue she featured some of my old writing and decided to repeat it for anyone lucky enough to have missed it the first time.

The editor, Dianne, is fun to work with and is always looking for quirky stuff--stories, poems, essays, lists, jokes, etc. She doesn't pay, but if you send her enough stuff over time you become one of her Featured Writers. It's a goal!

A long short story 'Neverland,' published many years ago in a book of my short stories by a Delhi publisher, is now an audio tale narrated by me. It was accepted pretty fast by Findaway Voices, which pays the highest royalty - 80% - and has a huge distribution network which includes Audible.

I did not sign up for Audible due to some confusion regarding its presence in India. But I think now it is possible although it takes 45 days says Findaway. I'm thrilled. I just set up a recording studio of sorts at home and this is my first narration of fiction. More audio tales to come!
