IWW Members' Publishing Successes

Pamelyn Casto

Better Than Starbucks will be publishing my prose poem, Words and a Cipher, in their August 2021 issue. What I find particularly interesting about this is that I submitted this piece for their last issue but they couldn't use it. Plus, they were "featuring" one of my other prose poems for that issue (the May issue).

They asked if I could keep it available in case they could use it in their next issue. I agreed to hold on to it. And, to my delight, I just found out they want to use it. This same journal rejected one of my prose poems and then months later asked me if it was still available.

So, what was initially rejected got published by them later on. I like this market. They "featured" my work a few times and nominated one of my prose poems for a Pushcart Prize. If you manage to be honored as one of their featured writers you get paid. You also have the option of getting a hard copy of the journal.
