IWW Members' Publishing Successes For The Week Ending 7/31/22
Amita Basu
My flash story "Backsides" (a flash story about two lazy men and their shabby colleague, 1,000 words) was accepted by Mid-Atlantic Journal, published by Bowie State University. They work with writers on any edits and pay $20. Thank you to everyone at Fiction who critiqued this piece!
My short story "Forgive" (3,000 words), critiqued in two rounds on Fiction some months ago, will appear in Issue 52 of The Bombay Literary Magazine, alongside work by George Mathen and Anjum Hasan.
TBLM pays Rs.5000 (approx $60), responds within a couple of months, and works with writers to make minor editorial changes. TBLM is one of India's top literary magazines, and accepts international submissions.
I'm grateful to everyone at Fiction for their inputs on two drafts, especially Bill LaFond, Jonathan Minton, Wayne Scheer, and Judith Quaempts, who are kind enough to critique most of my submissions.
I'm also grateful to the IWW community at large, to whom I owe not just my writing but my life. Both were going nowhere till I stumbled upon this talented, honest, and generous community.
