IWW Members Published and in Print
A day late, but not short of announcements of publishing success
during the last week of 2007. Here they are:
Diane Diekman
An article I subbed to Nfiction got printed on the front page of my
hometown newspaper in South Dakota. My sister says she's received
lots of favorable comments--too many to report to me. So I don't
know what people have said about it. Thanks to the Nfiction crowd
for critting this. I mistakenly edited out the fact that I live in
Maryland! I posted the final version to my website. You can also
see photos posted by the Ernest Tubb Record Shop.

My poem "A New Song," after Walt Whitman's "I Hear America
Singing," invited by the editor for a special edition on the poetry of
Walt Whitman, is up at Transparent Words, which is part of
Poetry Kit. Just scroll down past the featured poet to see the
'rest of us.' There is some very good work here. The featured
poet, Gary Blankenship, has been working on this project for at
least a year--also some interesting work. I'm there because a
general call went out for "Whitman-related" poems, and Gary
insisted that I write something for it. So I did. These are the
poems that were chosen. Enjoy.

Just got back from the holiday with a nice note from Cezanne's Carrot.
My winning flash,"Riding the Coma," went live on the 21st, Winter
Solstice issue. I managed to read the issue through remote
access--my mother-in-law's ancient computer, which I will never say
bad things about again!
This is a win and pay on a reprint piece originally published in
Mindprints, 2005. Sweet! I'm honored to be included. Winning's
not bad either. ;0)
Thanks to everyone for the ongoing help. Onward and upward for
2008.
Ann Hite
I just heard from the editor at The Dead Mule. She has accepted the
story I submitted, "A Discarded Spell Cast Into The Air." Many of
you know it as "Talley May." Thanks for all the help on this one.
But...she would also like to publish as many Black Mountain stories
as I have in this upcoming issue. There isn't any pay, but the exposure is
great and I look forward to seeing the stories together.
Kristen Howe
I have some good news to end 2007. Pegasus has accepted two out of
my three poems I sent them: "Italian Aster" and "Trace on Sunlight."
It'll be published in subsequent issues next year. There's no website,
though. The payment is probably a free copy or buying an example.
I'll let you know in 2008.
Laurel Lamperd
Just to say I had my poem "Child Rearing" published at ken*again,
a literary e-zine. They are calling for submissions for their Spring,
2008, edition. More on my website.
Joanna M. Weston
Two poems in Linkway, a small print mag out of Wales. The poetry
therein ain't of the best, but it's a fun place to be--this issue includes
a brief history of the bidet. And many thanks to the poetry
workshop! here's the address:
Linkway, Editor: Fay Davies
The Sheiling, The Links, Burry Port

Happy New Year!
