IWW Members Published and in Print

The Easter Bunny left some good news for our members last week!
Here it is.

Wendee Holtcamp

Here are the new ones:

Trekking Through Nepal's Grand Ridges, Travel Channel Online. This
piece covers 3 trips in Nepal - In Search of the Red Panda, Everest
Base Camp, and a no-trekking cultural trip to the Annapurnas.

Boom Time, Points of Interest Dept. Smithsonian Magazine. April
2008: "As the sun rises over the tallgrass prairie, one of the last wild
Attwater's prairie chickens performs an unusual mating dance, called
booming because of the low "woo woo" sounds the male emits."

Cougar Country: Are mountain lions running out of room? Texas
Parks and Wildlife Magazine
, April 2008 cover Story--not online yet but
will be within a couple weeks.

Mridu Khullar

I've been a bit silent lately, mostly because I was moving from India to
Ghana and getting set up here.

But I have good news to report. A travel piece I reported is in all editions
of this week's TIME Magazine (April 7, 2008 edition).

Can't wait to get my hands on the print edition.

Laurel Lamperd

Hi, everyone! - Just to say my book, Substitute Bride, has received a
very good review from Coffee Time Romance.

Ally Peltier

My article "Begin at the Beginning: Choosing the Right Sample Chapters
for Agent Submissions" appears in the March 30 issue of Funds for
Writers. (Scroll down.)

This article was a reprint sale--it appeared in Writers Weekly after
a stint on the IWW blog. Before that, it was a post as part of a discussion on
the Writing list! Thanks, guys, for the conversations.

Wayne Scheer

Two acceptances to report.

My story, "Understanding Momma," has been accepted for publication in
Nothing But Red, to be anthologized in both paperback and e-book versions.
All the profits from the book will go to Equality Now, an international
organization dedicated to fighting violence against women. I'm proud to
have lent my support to this organization, and the editors have been a
pleasure to work with.

And, as a change of pace, my humor piece, begun initially in Practice,
"The Gift That Keeps on Giving," has been accepted at Cynic Magazine
and will be up in their April issue.

Thanks to all.
