This week's Practice exercise~

Fictional nonfiction~

Prepared by: Rheal Nadeau

-------------------------

EXERCISE: From a classic work of fiction choose a single incident, and in 300
words or less rewrite the incident as a newspaper article.

-------------------------

Follow the famous five W's of news writing. Tell us in the first paragraph who,
what, where, when, and why. Then provide all the juicy details.

You might choose a scene from Romeo and Juliet to report to the Daily Planet,
or interview Jane Eyre about what it was like to see her Uncle Reed's ghost in
the Red Room.

To introduce your story, please let your reader know, in a brief sentence or two,
what scene you've chosen from what classic work.
--------------------------

These exercises were written by IWW members and administrators to provide structured practice opportunities for its members. You are welcome to use them for practice as well. Please mention that you found them at the Internet Writers Workshop.
