New Poll Question


The question for this week springs from a discussion on the IWW's WRITING list. As a result of that discussion, Ruth Douillette, one of the IWW's administrators, posted an interesting link to a blog post about women writers using pseudonyms.

Angela Guillaume writes, "The above are by no means intended to be blanket statements. Human psychology is a tricky thing indeed. At the end of the day, for the publishers, a pseudonym is of no consequence unless they feel it affects the bottom line—that is, how many sales can be made in what time."

The Internet Writing Workshop has monitored critique groups for fiction, nonfiction, novels, romance, short prose, poetry, scriptwriting, and practice writing. Each have participation requirements. The IWW also has groups discussing the art and craft of writing in general, creative nonfiction, speculative fiction, and marketing. The IWW is a cooperative. Membership is free.
