Writers Never Have Enough Time

Get organized!

Tips from an article in the Washington POST ...

Getting organized for the new year is a cliched resolution that so many of us abandon by mid-January. It's tough to tackle (much less successfully emerge from) a heaping mess with vigor. But if you fear an avalanche of teetering files or can't remember where the car keys are for the 10th time, organization should rightfully top your to-do list.

People Who Like Words ...

That more or less describes members of The Internet Writing Workshop. IWW members write.

Writers who read often congregate at Goodreads.

And there's something new at Goodreads, according to a recent newsletter.

Goodreads gets a face-lift this month, making it easier on the eyes, but more importantly, easier to use! In addition to some aesthetic tweaks, the redesign is wider (960 pixels), and new header navigation gives you faster access to all sections of the site. Looking for your next great read? Check out the new and improved explore page!

Another upgrade is our new comment notification system. Now you can select instant, daily, or weekly digests for any discussion you are following, including group topics, review comments, and book topics anywhere on the site. Don't let the next hot topic pass you by!

Check it out. You may find other IWW members there. It's good place to keep up with what's hot in reading.

That's Cool! No, It's Cuil!

From PC World ...

"A former Google employee and her husband launched a new search engine Monday called Cuil (pronounced "cool"), aiming to topple Google by indexing more Web pages than the search giant.

"Cuil isn't the first Google rival to launch this year. Wikia Search, a highly anticipated search engine from Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, made its official debut in January. Wikia Search hopes to provide better search results by allowing a community of users to index pages by using their Web page rankings and other suggestions, as well as its own indexing of the Web."
