IWW Members' Publishing Successes For The Week Ending 11/7/21

In honor of Halloween, I have a ghost story, of sorts, up at Reedsy's writing contest. I don't know how much they're influenced by the comments of others, but if you like the story, please leave a comment. They sponsor a weekly no fee writing contest--winner gets $50--on a list of topics. I've never won, but it's worth a try.
I have two stories up at Clever Magazine, "The Portland Stalker" and "Exquisite Naivete." This is Clever's final issue after twenty-five years of publishing. I have a soft spot for Clever because it's one of the first places I published and the editor, who I've never met, has become a virtual friend.
For this final issue, she asked for stories that took place in Portland, her hometown. This was a problem for me since I've never been to Portland, but with Google's help, I managed to set my story in the city. If anyone knows Portland, I'd be curious if I sounded convincing.
I just got notice that my story, "Blind Woman at a Nude Beach," is up at Everyday Fiction. I hope the title provokes readers...

I just heard that Brigets Gate Press is going to publish my 1800-word short story, At the Temple of Asclepius. The story will appear in an anthology on ancient Greek myths and is for stories and poems from "her" point of view.
My story's about Aspasia, beloved courtesan to Pericles and close friend to Socrates. Socrates was tried and sentenced to death while Aspasia was tried but *not* sentenced to death. The story is a looking back over her life at Asclepias' temple.
The anthology will be released in spring of 2022. I'm delighted to get this news. I love exploring ancient Greece and it's fun to put to use the many things I've learned about it (myths, funeral customs, death rites, and suchlike).

In August of 2019, Mark Budman and Jack Edward Effron reviewed "Untrue Things," for which I'm grateful. It just got published by Okay Donkey.
