The Spring 2022 print issue of Ploughshares includes my poem “Carla Medina de Sánchez: Tonight We Have Rice,” published under my pen name Lis Sanchez. The issue was guest-edited by Ilya Kaminsky, whom I admire deeply, so I am doubly thrilled, and still astonished, that my work appears in this issue.

I have a debt of gratitude to the poets in the Poetry List who not only have helped me get this poem in shape but have offered support and levity over the years. You are a wonderful lot. Thank you, friends!
